I was sick yesterday. Funnily enough, my first thought was I must have picked up something while shopping on Saturday; completely ignoring the fact that I'm surrounded by sickness every day at work.
What was fascinating to me was my lack of tolerance for coolness when ill. Covered with throws and at least one cat at all times, the fire roaring, and I was freezing even though the temperature read 70F! In contrast, this morning it was back down to 59F and felt perfectly fine.
I am very glad it was a short illness and I'm sure they will be glad at work too. My evening shift is very hard to fill at the last minute like that.
I learned something interesting while shopping: apparently, the midwest is becoming a popular area for customer service centers because of our lack of accent.

Glad your sick-i-ness was short lived! I had a day last week when I couldn't seem to get warm (inside and a temp of 70° also) but it quickly passed with no problems. In your case, don't push yourself (don't we all?) to be at work when not feeling up to snuff 'cause it could lead to your body not having time to return to top notch condition. (Yeah, I know, easy to say.)
Funny you should say we Midwesterners lack an accent. I've heard we have an accent . . . and that has always surprised me as I never thought we did! Go figure.
There is so much illness flying around this time of year. I am glad you recovered quickly but, I'm with Mama Pea, on taking your time to heal so there's no relapse. I have to laugh when I call a customer service center and get someone with a very heave Delhi accent, calling themselves Bob or Mindy!
